About Remanufactured Blades

With the rising prices of saw blades and other tools, it may be to your advantage to have your tools and blades remanufactured nstead of replaced. This article will discuss the advantages of remanufactured saw blades and other tools.

The Advantages

First, a remanufactured blade can cost significantly less than a new blade. The average 12” diameter saw blade with 16 teeth cost about $18 to remanufacture. A new blade of similar or better quality could cost as much as $40. Each time you remanufacture the blade you're saving at least $20, and many blades can be remanufactured as many as five times, saving about $100 dollars over the lifetime of the blade.

Secondly, a remanufactured tool or saw blade can be sharper than the factory’s original sharping process. At Southern Saw and Cutter, we sharpen all tools and saw blades on factory CNC machines, with some tools and cutters further sharpened by hand to ensure the absolutely best finish and sharpness. Our skilled sharpening technicians have decades of experience sharpening tools, and having a very sharp tool makes it not only easier to work with, but also is safer, as the blade moves freely through material, instead of getting jammed and slipping out of the slot.
